RECOMMENDED LOCAL EVENTS:

Behind theVilla Guiccioli Risorgimento and Resistance Museum building, the top of the hill is nowadays an historical and peaceful park. The grounds contain a total of 536 trees and shrubs including local flora and exotic species; of relevance the majestic presence of the Zelcova (Zelcova carpinifolia), counted among the monumental trees in the province of Vicenza.

Its location and conformation makes this park, with any probability, the most “intimate” and relaxing Vicenza’s city park. Check the photo gallery on www.flickr.com

Open From Tuesday to Sunday:
from October to March, from 9am to 5:30pm;
from April to September, from 9am to 7:30pm.
Closed: Monday, Christmas and January 1.

It’s possible to reach this park from the city center following an easy (and beautiful) walking trail. It’s just a 4 miles walk / hike to explore the southern area of the Vicenza city center passing through main historical buildings and natural areas:

The following GPS track / route shows that (with free GPS download) with a section in downtown Vicenza you can easily avoid: www.wikiloc.com
Attention, a section is made by steep gravel steps so the path is not suitable for strollers.
