Friday, February 23th, 2018 is the day of “M’illumino di meno” (I am enlightened less) an Italian radio campaign to raise awareness on energy consumption.

That’s why even in downtown Vicenza they will turn off the lights of the most important monuments like the Basilica Palladiana, Basilica di Monte Berico, Piazza delle Erbe, Villa Capra “La Rotonda” and Gallerie d’Italia Palazzo Leoni Montanari.

As part of the free initiative we point out:

  • 18.00, at the Vicenza downtown Palazzo Costantini Library (Contrada Riale, 13, 36100 Vicenza): reading and concert with soft lighting (accordion duo).
  • 18.30, Piazza dei Signori: “Footprint, our footprint on earth”, a large footprint made by candles with a souvenir photo taken from above. At the same time there will be a short show of animation and juggling with light.
  • From 19.00 to 20.00, Piazza delle Erbe: free candlelight tasting of Fairtrade hot chocolate.
  • From 20.00, Piazza dei Signori: “Skeggia Balfolk”, a free participation candlelight Folk dance event and Folk dance class open to everyone.
  • 18:00 at Villa Tacchi Library (viale della Pace 89, Vicenza), duo in concert (flute and guitar) will perform “Bordel 1900” and “Night Club 1960” by Astor Piazzolla.
