The Pro Loco Montorso Vicentino in collaboration with Italy by US and with the patronage of the Montorso Vicentino Municipality, organizes a medieval dinner with guided tour and itinerant shows around the magnificent Villa Da Porto Barbaran. Everything will be held solely in English!
It was in this villa that the nobleman from Vicenza, Luigi Da Porto, lived for about 13 years until his death. It is also where he wrote, in 1524, a novel based on his own love story. This novel was successively revised and transformed by William Shakespeare on his Romeo and Juliet masterpiece. It seems (some photos prove it) that the ghost of Luigi Da Porto roams the halls of the villa and other parts of the Montorso town. Take a look at the photos and read the interesting story about this mystery here or click on the below preview.
The event will begin with the introduction of historical episodes related to the Villa and to the mystery of the ghost narrated by a local experts Caterina Bastianello and Marco Marcheluzzo. Then, a ballet will be performed in the grand staircase of the building by Etra Danza Eventi dancing school. Following the ballet, there will be an aperitif in the evocative cellars, very popular with the spirit.. Masked dancers will later accompany the group in the main hall of the Villa where the medieval dinner will take place.
The dishes will be served on earthenware bowls with wooden cutlery, everything will be candlelight and in medieval style. Dinner will be enlivened by the sounds of a harp.
